I’ve not written much detail about Snowy lately. It’s been hard not getting to see her all day every day, but she has chugged along. She is so comfortable being in Chick’s hands and following the routine they have established between them. Indeed, I believe she has quite forgotten our 2-week then 3-week periods of being just the two of us.
When I said something to her about it the other day, she looked at me quite quizzically and shook her head trying to shake a memory of such a possibility out, but it just wasn’t there. She smiled at me, though.
Indeed, we are back to the moments when she gets so excited when she sees me, either if we overlap in the morning (my lateness makes this possible) and of course on the weekends. She smiles big and sometimes even claps her hands. I’m back in that role — the ‘husband/daddy’-girl who is not always there but how nice and special when they pop up. It’s nice to feel so ’special’, but I miss the daily real interaction, even though, as you saw, she challenged me constantly.
Chick keeps her “boost”-ing, keeps her up and engaged so that she doesn’t have any days she climbs right back in bed thinking it is bedtime at 11 AM, etc. etc. etc. She is amazing with the gift she has for doing this. As always, I have the hugest appreciation for Chick and for Snowy – they make my world turn the right direction at the right speed and the love is all around us.
There is nothing like a group hug, especially betwixt a 6′, 5′8″, and an almost 5′2″. We’re pretty darned cute that way.
Here’s the picture of Chick and Snowy I had briefly as a new header until I changed the layout here again. These are my girls.

Thank you for leaving me your thoughts!
