So fast, my dear darling friend, my “work daughter” who I encouraged to go to law school and take full advantage of her brilliance and her heart and compassion, has died. She only told me in late April, sending me a smiling picture of her with her ‘bald head’ the next day; and my subsequent emails went unanswered as her condition advanced so quickly despite her hopes expressed in that conversation that she would get into another trial and beat the monster.

She died in Hospice care the day before her birthday. I found out only midday this Thursday from another dear friend from the time we worked together in Atlanta, she’d only found out the night before. We sobbed in pain and loss together over the phone, all the thoughts and memories so alive and filled with her unique humor, charm, intellect, and devoted friendship. I can’t really do justice here, now, to this darling soul. I can’t and won’t forget her, and when I can I will share more.

I miss you so much, Celestial, and all you did for my life. Send me some of your peace when you can.

Your words were wonderfull. I will always be thankful for your push for Celeste to go to law school. There was nothing she was better suited for. I was always eager for her to share with me from your blogs and will follow on with them now.
